Discovering Arthurian History

After studying most of the popular references my
conclusion is that there are two historical characters at the
root of Arthurian legends:
* Arthur map Petr of Demetia (Dyfed)
* Arthur mac Aidan of Dal Riada
Down the ages a succession of authors have
embroidered the legends at the expense of the history. The
popularity of the legendary King Arthur has generated such a mass of
literature that it's now difficult to see signs of the historical King
Arthur. Actual historical manuscripts are few and
unreliable. Interpreting these documents is a difficult task.
